Sci-Fi. Fantasy. Feminist.
“Being chosen as an F-BOM featured author has been an emotional highlight of my career. I don’t think I’d realized how much I’d gotten used to arguing with sci-fi/fantasy publishers about broaching female-specific topics and breaking sexist formulas until I got a taste of not arguing with F-BOM. […] It’s rare for an indie publishing effort with this much idealism and heart to be able to offer artists more than just exposure, but F-BOM does. Actually getting paid for openly discussing female experiences in new ways is an incredible feeling, almost as incredible as getting to talk shop with a community of fellow authors and readers who are similarly unimpressed with common bigoted storytelling and eager to ring in something new.”
I’m a huge fan of F-BOM and loved being an F-BOM featured author. Lindsey and Cecelia are great to work with, and they go out of their way to not only make the experience fun and easy for authors but also to bring attention to great sci-fi and fantasy books written by amazing authors. I’ve been continually impressed by the quality of readers F-BOM attracts as well, and look forward to being a part of F-BOM for years to come.
I have nothing but praises for F-BOM and its founders, Lindsey Taveren and Cecelia Isaac. Being a first-time indie author, everything was a bit daunting as I published my debut novel. I’d prepared myself for disappointment, knowing the likelihood of my book buried under a sea of countless other titles on the infinite Amazon market. Imagine my surprise when F-BOM contacted me to request The Imperial Alchemist as its Feminist Book of the Month! Feminism and equality are something I have always supported, so being an F-BOM author is a special honour that I hold close to my heart. Cecelia and Lindsey are an absolute delight to work with, and their mission is something to be admired.
